Creating the foundation for tomorrows leaders

On the cusp of completing her apprenticeship in shopfitting, Chisholm student Danielle Shedden will continue her studies in Project Management for Building and Construction.

Danielle was tapped as this year’s Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation scholarship recipient sponsored by Hansen Yuncken, thanks to her teachers’ recognition and encouragement. Armed with aspirations of owning her own business, Danielle will soon gain the requisite management skills to lead a team of shopfitters, or even work for a builder one day.

This scholarship comes in a long line of accolades for Danielle which include:

· 2015 Metropolitan Apprentice of the Year - MBAV

· 2015 Joinery Apprentice of the Year - MBAV

· 2015 Victorian Apprentice of the year - MBAV

· 2016 Chisholm Education Award for Apprentice of the Year, and

· 2016 Chisholm Education’s CEO Award

During her part time studies with Chisholm, Danielle also works as an apprentice for Clayton-based Whytehall Shopfitters, mentors other female students, and takes part in community volunteer projects so she can continue to practice her skills.

This is the third scholarship that Hansen Yuncken has supported through the Caroline Chisholm Education Foundation which has a mission to help students in financial hardship receive a high quality, vocational educational qualification at Chisholm Institute.

Creating a foundation for the future of construction, we are extremely pleased to be able to support Danielle as she continues on her exciting career.
