Hansen Yuncken partnering with Health Infrastructure NSW to deliver two projects ahead of program

The health sector has long been a significant part of Hansen Yuncken’s business. With over 100 projects delivered nationally across the public, not-for-profit and private sectors, our completed health projects are nearing $5 billion in value.

In a bid to help better prepare health services amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Hansen Yuncken is part of the integrated project team, including Health Infrastructure and Mid North Coast Local health District, working hard to deliver the new Macksville Hospital Development ahead of program – a task that could see doors to the hospital open up to six months earlier than originally anticipated.

Already on track to deliver the new $73m Macksville Hospital ahead of program, increased pressure on the country’s health services saw the project team improve the program by compacting the commissioning timeframe. The revised program of works will allow the hospital to open its doors as early as May 2020, six months ahead of the original anticipated program.

Local MP, Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey commented on her Facebook page “I extend my heartfelt thanks to the local tradies and workers, led by a locally born and bred Project Manager (Josh Crilley), who have been working hard to get this project completed. It’s been their effort and skills which have made the early completion of this project possible”.

In addition, Hansen Yuncken is working with Health Infrastructure and Western NSW LHD to bring forward the completion of in-patient beds on the critical care floor of the new three-storey clinical building, being delivered as part of the $150 million Dubbo Hospital Redevelopment (Stages 3 and 4).

The team will bring the handover date and commissioning period forward and open six months ahead of schedule.

Hansen Yuncken Project Manager Daniel Spirit-Jones commented on the enormous effort from all involved to meet this revised handover date;

“The project team are fully committed to meet the tight, yet achievable handover date. It will require 100% collaboration across all parties to hand over these much-needed beds to the Dubbo Health Service. We are all focused on playing our part in bringing these essential services to our community and keeping them safe and well through these tough times.”
