State Manager Nick Luzar - Capitalising off NSW boom

The NSW business has capitalised on many opportunities in the state marketplace, significantly lifting the level of operations. Thriving in a competitive and versatile market, NSW has achieved its growth target with collaboration and innovation central to each business decision.

Increasing resources by 24% in 12 months, NSW has been awarded approximately $400m of projects in 2017 with a predicted turnover of $450m in the next financial year. Justice, Aged Care, Health, Education and Community form part of the existing portfolio of projects which span from $7m to $185m in value.

In the past 12 months, we have attracted some of the industries most experienced professionals with a new Commercial Manager, Construction Director and Sector Specialists making up just a fraction of the team’s expertise. In addition, an investment in training and development has seen 65% of staff engaged in training and development programs.

Continually thinking outside the box, our project teams have driven some impressive projects through largely prefabricated and modularised techniques. Delivered within complex and high security environments, this approach has opened opportunities for our entire supply chain and presented a new and positive project experience for each client. In addition, we are working to maximise the use technology on our projects and to achieve that, have a dedicated inhouse team of BIM and VDC specialists supporting the delivery of each project.

Adding to Hansen Yuncken’s national capabilities, 2018 looks to be prosperous with a portfolio of projects exceeding $550 in combined value.
