Bathurst Expansion Project Breaks Ground

Expanding Bathurst correctional centre marks a $110 million investment, part of the NSW Government’s $3.8 billion prison infrastructure plan.

In anticipation of Stage 1 works beginning in August of 2018, Hansen Yuncken was joined the Bathurst Correctional Centre Governor Mark Kennedy, Minister for Corrections David Elliott MP, state member Paul Toole MP, Mayor Graeme Hanger and Corrective Services NSW Commissioner Peter Severin at the prospective site for the turning of the first sod of the Bathurst Correctional Centre 220 Bed Expansion project.

The multi-stage project set for completion in mid 2020 has the regional community looking forward to not only more jobs in construction, but also the ongoing economic advantages the project is expected to provide resulting from the investment.

Hallmarked by a 220-bed expansion, the project works also include the construction and installation of a new kitchen, laundry and central stores units in Stage 1, followed by new education and administration buildings in Stage 2.
