Continuing Long Standing Ties Through Adelaide Casino Expansion

Hansen Yuncken will revisit its history with SKYCITY Entertainment Group to deliver a $330m expansion of the Adelaide Casino over the next two years.

Completing the original casino development back in 1985, the casino expansion will join a portfolio of other large infrastructure projects which have helped shape the city over the past 80 years.

As the largest private sector investment in Adelaide’s history, Adelaide Casino will transform into an integrated entertainment destination on the Festival Plaza forecourt, offering 123-room luxury hotel, new bars, cafés, restaurants, a 750-seat function space and a 1500-space car park.

A media conference held on site with Premier of South Australia Steven Marshall, SA State Manager Mark Rosenboom and Adelaide Casino General Manager Luke Walker marked the official commencement of the project which will create 1000 construction jobs during construction and a further 800 permanent positions upon its completion.

This highly sophisticated and complex design will see Hansen Yuncken adopt several innovative solutions to manage the construction, logistics, program, quality and project safety. In addition, Hansen Yuncken will work predominately with local contractors and suppliers to construct and fit-out the 12-level development.

The Adelaide Casino Redevelopment adds to Hansen Yuncken’s existing portfolio of major entertainment developments and upgrades nationally including Adelaide’s $60m Her Majesty’s Theatre Upgrade, the $74m Western Sydney Performing Arts Centre, $50m Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Art Gallery and Hobarts $67m The Hedberg.
