Set for the year -  Hansen Yuncken secures predicted turnover for 2017/2018

Hansen Yuncken CEO Peter Salveson confirms that the company is set for a solid 2017/2018 financial year with the predicted turnover already exceeding $1 billion.

Six months into my new role as CEO, I am pleased to see the business continuing strongly off a solid platform of projects. The commencement of a new year has seen a number of opportunities converted, as nationally we have secured approximately $425m worth of projects since Christmas.

With confidence growing in the infrastructure, commercial and non-residential sectors, we are seeing great forward work opportunities specifically in health, education, commercial and justice sectors.

New South Wales is currently our largest State market with offices in Sydney’s CBD and Newcastle. In addition we undertake significant regional projects in areas including Wellington, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga. Recent contract awards include Stage 3 Dubbo Hospital Development and Parklea Correctional Centre Phase C.

In Victoria, the recent announcement of preferred builder on the $24m Hakea Village Shepparton project was a great pick up for our regional team and continues the good work undertaken in this sector. We also continue works at our two prison projects at Dame Phyllis Frost and Loddon Prison. We are close to final completion on two complex library projects for Monash University and are currently tendering a number of exciting landmark projects in and around Melbourne’s CBD.

As one of our newest and growing markets, our Queensland branch has recently secured a $56m contract with Queensland University to build their new Education Precinct. This important project win follows on from the successful completions of the Carrara and Coomera projects that are important locations for holding the upcoming Commonwealth Games. In Tasmania, we will soon reach completion of the $69m Parliament Square Development whilst early works have recently commenced on Hobart's iconic Creative Arts facility for the University of Tasmania’s, The Hedberg.

With the recent milestone on the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, the project is drawing to an end. As a builder, we are proud of the expertise and knowledge drawn from over 24,000 individuals who have invested so heavily in the creation of this world-class health care facility. Elsewhere in South Australia, works are continuing on the $183m Flinders Medical Centre, $247m University of South Australia flagship development and $31m commercial development at Port Adelaide for a long standing client epc.Pacific.

Approaching our 100th year milestone, Hansen Yuncken remains focused on the future. Nationally, our teams embrace new opportunities, develop more efficient work practices and continue to build strong and trusted relationships with our clients and community. We look forward to an exciting year ahead.
