The County Court building at the corner of Lonsdale and William Streets in Melbourne underwent a refurbishment to provide modern facilities and increase the capacity of the precinct to manage court caseloads.
Involving an upgrade of the building base, the façade, services infrastructure and amenities cores, the project provides a great example of retrofitting older buildings to meet current energy standards, achieving a 5 Green Star rating.
A new entry, four levels of courtrooms and seven floors of office accommodation have brought the facility into line with contemporary standards.
