Providing a safe and supportive environment for young offenders is a priority for the youth training centre. Adopting contemporary and innovative rehabilitation practices, it delivers practical training and support to enable young people to return to the community with confidence, equipped with the skills to live a non-offending lifestyle.
Hansen Yuncken constructed the 60 bed facility which featured a range of amenities to support the young cohort including health centre, separated visits centre, dedicated education centre, recreation area and reflection area, as well as staff amenities, administration and admissions area, central kitchen and store, maintenance, waste recycling and car parking.
High security measures were also incorporated (to a Level 1 category) such as a secure pedestrian entry control and control room.
