Hansen Yuncken was appointed to design and construct Opal Aged Care’s new residential facility in Bankstown, amongst Sydney's western suburbs. Opal Aged Care were determined to produce a friendly and inviting atmosphere for the local community.
The 155-bed facility features one basement level staff car park, a large commercial kitchen for preparation of daily meals for residents and a high capacity in-house laundry facility. Works also included four above-ground storeys providing high-quality accommodation to residents and a dedicated memory support unit located on the ground floor.
The aged care facility features lush, landscaped outdoor areas allowing residents to enjoy the garden and planted spaces. Shared balconies on the upper floors provide communal spaces for residents to enjoy the view to surrounding suburbs. The ground floor also includes a hair salon and café, providing comfortable, convenient amenities.
