The Grange was a purpose-built aged care facility comprising 40 high-care beds and 40 low-care beds. The double wing layout was carefully designed to consider nursing control points and crucial ideas of patient enjoyment to produce a facility that reduces nursing movement and enhances liveability for the patients.
Hansen Yuncken partnered with Burton & Carter Architects to deliver the double-storey timber framed building. The layout was designed to ensure that each resident's room throughout the facility is equipped with bathroom and kitchen facilities. The internal connections allow for circulation inside and outside, with views of the grounds from each resident's room. The Grange project was delivered ahead of program and below the allocated budget.
