Back to Back Packing for South Australian Children in Need

7 February, 2024

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering, bringing people together, building communities and creating a better society for everyone.

In support of National Volunteer Week, a team of spirited South Australian Hansen Yuncken volunteers ventured to the Backpacks4SA Kids Packing Centre for a morning of team building, where we sorted and packed backpacks for children in need.

We are incredibly proud to support Backpacks4SA Kids, an organisation dedicated to assisting thousands of South Australian children each year, by providing resources that contribute to the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people during turbulent periods of dislocation from home and routine care.

Our volunteering activity produced 32 backpacks that are now ready for distribution into the community. Backpacks4SA Kids aim to distribute these into the community within three days of packing.

Thank you to our South Australian business for supporting this great initiative and donating time towards this great cause. It is incredibly rewarding to know that collectively, our efforts will make a difference to children in need, at a time of need.

“On behalf of Backpacks4SA Kids, I would like to thank Hansen Yuncken for your support, which means so much to us and helps us continue the work that we do with children who have faced crisis and trauma throughout all of South Australia.”

“It’s only through the generosity of our Backpacks community that we are able to continue to support those kids who need us most. This year alone, we aim to help 15,000 kids with all of our programs which is an incredibly sad number of kids who need to know someone cares for them and that they aren’t alone. With your support, we’ll be able to move closer to ensuring no child is left behind. Once again, thank you for your support and giving hope and joy to the kids who need us most in our community.” – Suzie Farley, Donor Relationships and Fundraising Support Officer, BKP4SAK
