Building A Safe Future: Haven House

At Hansen Yuncken, we are proud to contribute toward a lasting legacy and build positive relationships with our broader construction community. The opportunity to meaningfully impact others extends beyond the site perimeter and includes the people and places around us.

In partnership with the Lighthouse Foundation and the Property Industry Foundation (PIF), Hansen Yuncken will deliver refurbishments to an existing facility for the ‘Young Women’s Freedom’ tailored care program. Haven House, Australia’s first safe refuge dedicated to providing shelter for young women aged 14 to 22 years, who are subject to early and/or forced marriages – will undergo significant refurbishments into a built for purpose, safe space.

Working hand in hand with our construction community, we are pleased to contribute our expertise to manage the delivery of this meaningful project. Through generous contributions from our trusted suppliers, Haven House will be a safe space for residents – with a large, open plan kitchen and living room creating a warm, welcoming environment.

Improving living conditions at every corner, the carer quarters will be refurbished to revitalise and energise the hub – a sun soaked deck space and landscaping to ‘bring the outside in’ and absorb the benefits of green spaces.

Our enthusiasm for community projects has been fuelled by our involvement in the Lakehouse Project for Housing All Australians – transforming an unused aged care facility for women over 50 years old, experiencing homelessness. As a team, we are energised to contribute toward this significant project that will shape the future of these young women’s lives – for generations to come.

Works on Haven House has commenced, with completion anticipated late 2023.
