Building Connections Beyond Project Completion
3 November, 2026Hansen Yuncken recently returned to the UNSW Health Translation Hub with Plenary Group, project partners and members of the property community to celebrate the relationships behind the award-winning facility while supporting Rainbow Club.
Hosted at the Hub Eatery, the event brought members of the project team back together more than a year after the Health Translation Hub reached Practical Completion. It provided an opportunity to reflect on the collaboration that shaped the project and the value the building continues to create for the surrounding health, education and research community.

Guests heard from Tim Regan, CEO of the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct, about the vision for the Health Translation Hub and its role at the heart of the Randwick hospital and university precinct.
Tom Roche, Executive Director at Plenary Group, and David Beslich, Co-Chair and Executive Director of Hansen Yuncken, also reflected on the importance of strong partnerships, the enduring assets they can create and what can be achieved when organisations work together with a shared vision.
Rainbow Club Director Rob Lloyd spoke about the organisation’s work providing specialised swimming lessons for children with disability and the difference these programs make for children and families.

A shared commitment to community
The event was initiated through Hansen Yuncken Senior Site Manager Ben Capra, whose connections with the project, Plenary and Rainbow Club brought the organisations together.
The connection was particularly meaningful given Kensington Rainbow Club already swims at UNSW, while some children supported by Rainbow Club access services within the broader health precinct.

Hansen Yuncken and Plenary each made a contribution to support Rainbow Club’s future growth, extending the project partnership into a shared commitment to community impact.
The strongest project relationships continue well beyond Practical Completion. Returning to the Health Translation Hub with Plenary, the project team and Rainbow Club was an opportunity to celebrate what we achieved together while using those connections to support an organisation delivering a meaningful service to children and families. We are proud that the legacy of this project extends beyond the building itself.
Phil Bermingham, General Manager, NSW & ACT
A project with an ongoing legacy
Delivered by Hansen Yuncken for Plenary Group and UNSW, the 15-storey Health Translation Hub brings researchers, clinicians, educators and industry together within the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct.
The project has received significant industry recognition, including the Industry Choice Award at the 2026 Infrastructure Partnerships Australia Awards, and the Tertiary Buildings $200 Million and Over category and overall Outstanding Construction Award at the 2026 MBA NSW Excellence in Construction Awards.

The Rainbow Club event demonstrated another dimension of the project’s legacy: the relationships established through delivery and their capacity to generate further value for clients, partners and the wider community.
Hansen Yuncken thanks Plenary, Rainbow Club, the Hub Eatery team, the project’s delivery partners and everyone who contributed to the evening.
