Championing Health, Wellbeing and Community Across the Country

20 November, 2025

At Hansen Yuncken, we believe that a thriving workforce is built on more than technical skills – it’s built on connection, wellbeing, and a strong sense of community. Recently, our Tasmania and South Australia teams demonstrated exactly that, stepping out of their work boots and into two energetic industry events focused on health and togetherness.

Tasmania: Racing for Better Mental Health

Our Tasmania team proudly participated in The Mind Games Race for Research, a fast-paced and uplifting event that brings workplaces together to raise awareness and funds for critical mental health research.

Teams completed a series of problem-solving challenges designed to energise both the mind and body. More importantly, the event sparked conversations about mental health – a topic we continue to champion across Hansen Yuncken.

The team’s enthusiasm and teamwork on the day reflected our ongoing commitment to creating an environment where people feel supported, connected and safe. By taking part, we joined a broader movement helping ensure better futures for individuals, families and communities impacted by mental ill-health.

South Australia: Kicking Goals for Wellbeing

Further west, our South Australian team hit the pitch for the annual Construction Cup soccer tournament, a friendly competition that brings together organisations across the industry to celebrate teamwork, fitness and industry camaraderie.

This year’s tournament featured a special guest player – Hansen Yuncken CEO George Bardas – who didn’t hesitate to step into the HY jersey and join the team on the field. George’s involvement was a memorable highlight and reinforced the importance of showing up for one another, both on and off the pitch.

The Construction Cup continues to be a valued tradition for our SA team, strengthening relationships and building the sense of unity that makes our industry so unique.

A Shared Focus on Wellbeing

Across both states, the message is clear: when we prioritise health and wellbeing, we strengthen our people, our teams, and our industry.

Events like these help foster the culture we strive for at Hansen Yuncken – one where colleagues connect, look out for each other, and take pride in contributing to something bigger than themselves.

We extend our thanks to everyone who participated, organised, or supported these activities, and we look forward to continuing to champion wellbeing right across the business.
