The first stage of The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s new Emergency Department was officially opened by the Minister for Health, Jill Hennessy, on Monday 16 May.
It was then opened for business to the public on Tuesday 24 May. The hospital is thrilled with the new department which has improved patient flows and comfortable and light filled waiting areas. The Emergency Department is the first clinical area to be unveiled as part of the hospital’s overall redevelopment project, and assists with the delivery of timely and specialist clinical care to the Victorian community. The overall redevelopment is due for completion in 2018.
