The Burnside Village North Expansion included a significant revitalisation of South Australia’s premier retail destination. The project introduced new retail and dining tenancies, upgraded public spaces and premium finishes, enhancing the Centre’s overall customer experience and reinforcing its position as a leading shopping precinct. Delivered within a live operating environment, the works required careful staging, close stakeholder coordination and rigorous safety management to minimise disruption to tenants and visitors.

The scope of works encompassed a major extension, requiring the integration of complex architectural elements and the delivery of high-end interior finishes across multiple levels, along with an extension of the basement carpark across two carpark levels. This undertaking demanded meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in both design and execution. The project delivered three additional floors of retail space, accommodating premium tenants and elevating the shopping experience for visitors. The inclusion of significant architectural features and technology, such as extensive bespoke skylights and expansive LED screens, contributed to the project’s visual impact, functionality and user experience.

Over 2,400m2 of glass was installed (609 glass panels), for the freeform Lanik and skillion roofs, undertaken in approximately two months. The glass roof illuminates the heart of Burnside Village, and serves as the centrepiece of the complex. The expansion provides a further 80 stores and doubles the footprint of Burnside Village to 38,850m2. There is also 1600 free undercover carparks and e-Vehicle charging.
