Hansen Yuncken has completed the Hervey Bay Library and Administration Centre, a major new civic destination bringing community, cultural and Council services together in the heart of Hervey Bay.

Delivered for Fraser Coast Regional Council, the five-level facility comprises approximately 13,500m² of contemporary community and workplace space above basement car parking. At its centre is an expanded two-level library offering modern areas for reading, learning, digital access, creative activities and community programs.

The development also includes a Council Customer Service Centre, consolidated administration accommodation, Council Chambers, flexible meeting and creative spaces, and a purpose-built Disaster Resilience Centre supporting coordinated emergency response for the Fraser Coast region.

A new public plaza and pedestrian connections integrate the building with Main Street and the surrounding Pialba parklands, creating an accessible and welcoming civic precinct. More than three-quarters of the development is dedicated to community use, providing a lasting place for residents to learn, connect, create and access essential services.

The project was delivered through an Early Contractor Involvement and Design & Construct model and forms part of the Hinkler Regional Deal.
