Maitland Administration Centre

To support the population growth in Maitland and the broader Hunter region, the new Maitland Administration Centre is a hub to consolidate the Council workforce. Delivered in partnership with EJE Architecture, the centre creates an activated precinct, integrating the existing heritage listed Town Hall building – originally constructed in 1890 – with a modern workplace to support connection and collaboration.

Conservation of the rich heritage detail in the existing Town Hall was critical to the success of the project. The team worked closely with heritage consultants and a wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the unique built heritage was preserved – incorporating the existing Council Chamber. The revitalised heritage component has been given new life, now capable of housing community events and activities.
