Hansen Yuncken successfully delivered the transformation of an existing office into a purpose-built, high-capacity data centre for NBN Co. The National Test Facility provides a critical environment to support NBN Co and Telstra testing, ensuring the reliability and resilience of Australia’s telecommunications network.

The project included the installation of 120 new racks across an expanded data room, underpinned by extensive electrical, mechanical and communications upgrades. Significant new high-density data cabling was also integrated to meet growing bandwidth demands and enable future scalability.

As a live 24/7 operational site, maintaining critical services throughout construction was paramount. Hansen Yuncken worked closely with stakeholders to stage works seamlessly, ensuring zero disruption to essential operations.

This expansion delivers a robust, future-ready facility that strengthens national digital infrastructure, supporting the continued rollout and evolution of next-generation telecommunications technology.
