The Regional Logistics Distribution Centre (RLDC) project involved the delivery of a state-of-the-art commercial linen service and a modern healthcare supply and logistics warehouse. To ensure successful project outcomes, our Hansen Yuncken team took a highly collaborative approach to meticulously coordinate the building works and deliver the highly automated laundry equipment, ensuring precise alignment with other project elements such as:

• The fully automated laundry where we coordinated the installation of equipment with only four manned operations from delivery to final folding and packing for distribution to Southwest Healthcare’s various Regional Centres
• The Sterile Room (used for logistics and distribution) is temperature, humidity and positive air pressure controlled. Within the store is a robotic and automatic retrieval system consisting of 7600 totes to hold all Southwest Healthcare’s sterile products which are retrieved and transported by robots to centralised workstations

Striving to deliver more than just physical buildings, a significant aspect of this project was to maximise the participation of local subcontractors; as well as giving back to the local community through our sponsorship for the Dennington Football and Netball Club (DFNC).

Now fully operational, it allowed the existing laundry and healthcare supply services to be relocated offsite; making way for important redevelopment works to take place at the Warrnambool Base Hospital.
