Under Construction

The Maitland Administration Centre project will see the delivery of a new administration building and refurbished Town Hall complex. The project, undertaken to accommodate current and future staff numbers, generally comprises three components:

Town hall café refurbishment and new admin building: This component will see the delivery of a new three-storey administration building featuring 279 workstations and offices, end of trip facilities and storage rooms, as well as the refurbishment of a heritage 1860’s two-storey Georgian terrace known as the “Town Hall Café”. Once complete, the Town Hall Café will be used for meetings, marquee events and additional storage. Works to the administration building’s lobby will also feature a wall mounted hanging system allowing for handing exhibitions of artworks.

Refurbishment of the Town Hall complex: The current Town Hall complex consists of the original 1890’s heritage Town Hall facility and a 1930’s office annex building and is home to council chambers, a large auditorium with a stage and meeting rooms. The works to this component of the project will deliver upgraded services, meeting rooms and council chambers, interior and exterior building finishes and change rooms, as well as new commercial kitchens, storerooms, green room, public amenities and plant deck for mechanical plant. The works will also see an extension of the Main Hall stage and removal of an existing pedestrian link bridge.

Site improvements: Additional to the new build and refurbishment, the scope of works also features site improvements including landscaping, carparking and pedestrian pavements, flood lighting, new wayfinding and heritage interpretation signage and site services upgrades.
