Innovative processes and materials were key to delivering the expansion of Living In Accommodation at the School of Artillery and School of Armour at Puckapunyal with minimal disruption. Design solutions included a pre-cast concrete modular structure, significantly reducing onsite labour and risks associated with site access and inclement weather, and giving Defence greater certainty of delivery. An alternate design layout proposed by Hansen Yuncken, which reduced the impact on current bush land, was also adopted by the client. The contract included subdivision infrastructure such as landscaping, roads, carparks and services, improving access and service provision to the six three storey buildings, accommodating 288 beds for Level 1 trainees.
