Announcing the major entrance to the University campus, the Burwood Highway Frontage Building comprises an eight level tower adjacent to a five level podium building.
In creating this world class educational facility the emphasis is on providing excellent indoor ambience and environmentally sustainable design, achieved through a high-performance facade, elevated levels of controlled daylight penetration, under floor air distribution, active mass cooling, low energy usage, high water efficiency, cyclist facilities, solar hot water heating and sustainable materials.
To improve safety and ensure positive outcomes, Hansen Yuncken implemented a number of new processes and risk aversion techniques. Managing competing interests for the highly involved stakeholders (including university academics, financial and administration staff, and the public) ensured the successful delivery of the project.
