We are proud to extend our partnership with the University of Newcastle with the contract award of the Honeysuckle City Campus Stage 1A project. This project forms the first stage of the University of Newcastle’s long-term development plan for their Honeysuckle site, that will see the eventual construction of seven buildings across the Honeysuckle parcel along Honeysuckle Drive, Wright Lane and Worth Place. The University’s plan for the site seeks to promote a long-term vision of delivering new modes of education focused around a compact campus setting, situated in a central location.
Stage 1A comprises the design and construction of a new four-storey building to be used for academic and ancillary uses, internal fitout works and landscaping works. The new campus will be home to the Integrated Innovation Network (I2N) Hub and provide additional facilities for the School of Creative Industries. Featuring a sleek design that aims to create a ‘stage within the city,’ the Honeysuckle City Campus will facilitate connections between students, industry and the community to drive an innovative regional economy.
The building will be constructed using innovative mass timber and sage glass, which will reduce environmental impacts and minimise construction waste, while driving improved sustainability measures for the precinct.
