The North Melbourne Primary School (new campus) is a new, seven storey vertical campus, located in Molesworth Street in inner city North Melbourne. Once completed, it is used to accommodate more than 500 students within multi-purpose classrooms, breakout spaces, a library, music and performing arts area, kitchen garden, basketball court and gymnasium. In addition, consisting of two children's rooms and an outdoor learning area with a sandpit and cubby house, the Early Learning Centre (ELC) on level 5 can also accommodate 66 students.
As a part of our ongoing commitment towards social procurement, HY is carrying out a comprehensive Social Procurement Framework for this project. We will engage extensively with Aboriginal people in Victoria and the communities that we work in, providing a safe environment and encouraging sustainable outcomes. This project is currently leading the way, socailly, having established place-based collaborative social procurement partnerships that work to expand our sound knowledge base in this space. The overarching aim being the creation of sustainable employment opportunities and positive social outcomes through our supply chain and subcontractor networks.
