An aeroplane simulation capsule, gas suppression unit, two holding cells, Top Secret conference/video conference rooms with high acoustic ratings, and state-of-the-art gym and kitchen were unique features of this highly secure and technologically advanced fitout.
The Sydney headquarters fitout at Sydney International Airport was the precursor to a roll-out of base building and fitout upgrades for the Australian Federal Police across Australia. As the first project in this larger roll-out, it was used to explore design solutions and streamline outcomes for future accommodation.
The most challenging aspect was coordinating over 60 client variations without corresponding extension of time claims. Moreover, security and mechanical, electrical, data, audiovisual, fire and hydraulic services coordination installed in limited ceiling space were all completed within abbreviated timeframes.
