Awarded three separate stages of the Lyell McEwin Hospital, Hansen Yuncken utilised careful planning, procedures and stakeholder engagement to ensure the seamless delivery of each stage with minimal disruption to the surrounding operational campus.

  • Stage A involved extensive redevelopment of the existing occupied hospital campus, with a 30,000m2 new facility delivered through a relationship based contract. The primary focus of Stage A was achieving value, community and environmental related outcomes.
  • Stage B consisted of a further refurbishment of the existing General Hospital, new Mental Health Unit, a Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy facility and a multi-level car park.
  • Stage C included the construction of a new 96 bed acute inpatient building, rooftop helipad, new ambulatory care building, support services building, Women’s Health Centre facilities, maternal assessment unit, support, research offices, and relocated and expanded back of house services.
