Lyell McEwin Hospital Stages A, B, C

$330 million

Delivery Method MC

Awarded each of the three stages of this hospital, Hansen Yuncken relied on careful planning and procedures, working closely with a number of stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of each stage with minimal disruption to the rest of the operating campus.

Stage A involved extensive redevelopment of the existing occupied hospital campus with a 30,000m2 new facility delivered through a relationship based contract – with the emphasis on achieving value, community and environmental related outcomes.

Stage B consisted of a further refurbishment of the existing General Hospital, new Mental Health Unit, a Linear Accelerator Radiotherapy facility and a multi-level carpark.

Stage C included the construction of a new 96 bed acute inpatient building, rooftop helipad, new ambulatory care building, support services building, Women’s Health Centre facilities, maternal assessment unit, support and research offices, and relocated and expanded back of house services.
