The ongoing transformation of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital was delivered progressively over seven years, consisting of over 20 different stages of work requiring stringent planning and staging. The comprehensive modernisation of an inpatient building including 70 ward rooms, 20 day chairs with specialist departments including renal, haematology and cytotoxic preparation, a childcare building, rehabilitation and allied therapy building and older persons mental health unit (20 bed facility) and multi-deck car parking. A new research facility incorporates administration and laboratory areas.
Delivered within an operating health campus, the complex project also included an upgrade of associated infrastructure, such as substantial renewal of central services plan.
