Hansen Yuncken was awarded the contract by The State of Queensland through Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service to deliver the new Hervey Bay Hospital Emergency Department Building. The new facility supports current and future demands and allows flexibility to expand future inpatient services to meet the growing requirements of the community.
Over 15 months the project team completed construction and fitout works of the new three-storey Emergency Department Building and associated external works. Following completion of the main building and relocation of the Critical Decision Unit (CDU) to Level 1, the existing CDU was demolished and works in the link area and lift lobbies completed.
