The upgraded centre offers a range of health, educational and spiritual services to the young people, including individual case management, specialised counselling, and training in job and living skills, with the Department of Education and Communities operating a school to enable young offenders to continue their studies and learn skills for future reintegration into education, training or the workforce.

A seven-staged construction program was implemented to accommodate the activities of the existing justice facility, ensuring operations remained undisrupted throughout works.
The new facilities include an administration block and accommodation pod of 18 beds, while the seven existing buildings were also refurbished to provide updated office administration, education, kitchen and dining facilities.  Ground works and extensive landscaping created an exercise oval and associated walkways.
