Hansen Yuncken was engaged by Montlaur Project Services to design and construct the Japara Newport Lakes Aged Care Development. This four-storey, state of the art aged care facility includes 120 beds, comfortable communal spaces, on site kitchen and laundry, roof-level plant area and a spacious basement car park.
Partnering with Crosier Scott Architects, the design is in line with modern, quality apartment buildings, rather than traditional aged care built forms, acknowledging the future evolving demographic of the aged care sector. The internal environments have been designed to actively promote wellbeing, openness, and movement, while also providing a range of zones designed for engagement. A main thoroughfare runs through the ground floor level, opening onto a rear terrace with a commanding outlook to Newport Lakes.
