In the case of a natural disaster, the new Ausgrid facility – equipped with state of the art technology – will act as a regional command centre, facilitating strategic energy service management to the public.

Due to the advanced technical systems, Hansen Yuncken provided concept, design development and construction services, investing many hours upfront with key stakeholders to determine the specifications before lodging the development application and constructing the 13,500m2 facility on a greenfield site.

Accommodation and amenities for 80 staff are housed in the administration building, while the garage workshop consists of a service pit with a sophisticated jacking system, lubrication system, grease, compressed air and waste oil reticulation services. An overhead gantry crane has also been installed to assist in truck servicing, with a washbay located adjacent to the garage. The warehouse incorporates a jib crane and numerous storage racking solutions. An EWP parking bay and bunded transformer store are provided beneath. Extensive external works encompass 7,500m2 of concrete hardstand and 2,000m2 of asphalt.
