Hosting the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the new Coomera Indoor Sports Centre is multi-purpose, transitioning from netball and gymnastics in Games mode to a range of sports and community uses preceding and following the event. With a single span of 75m created using exposed tubular steel columns and roof trusses, the centre accommodates eight combined basketball, netball and volley ball courts, a separate gymnastics arena, associated player change rooms, public amenities, staff and meeting rooms, and a kiosk/café, with 12 external floodlit netball courts. Permanent spectator seating for 350 will expand to 7,600 with the addition of temporary seating.
