Completing the original fitout as part of the Adelaide Central Plaza over a decade ago, Hansen Yuncken was re-engaged for the high profile refurbishment of David Jones, delivering concessions of world class quality. Works across the five trading floors – including reconfiguring each level to improve circulation – were divided into multiple stages to enable continuous trading. Clever design solutions were devised so that each of the 250 stocked brands was uniquely reflected in its fitout, and could be constructed according to the staging plan within the short nine month timeframe. Adopting a ‘can-do approach’ for every request, the site operated 24/6 every week, with some weeks extending to 7 days in order to deliver this project on time and budget, and to the extreme satisfaction of the client and floor staff.
