A high level security facility involving a complex end user and requiring extensive innovation; Hansen Yuncken worked closely with Defence teams to understand the technical needs for the specialist training facility. Both challenging and rewarding, the project involved the redevelopment of office buildings, training facilities and working accommodation for the Navy, including the RAN Dive School, Submarine Underwater Medical Unit and the Recompression Chamber Facility, in conjunction with an upgrade of site entry, car park and service infrastructure. Despite site issues of water egress and asbestos, the successful delivery of this multi-faceted project was attributed to meticulous upfront planning and stringent procedures.
