The Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology Stage 2 project is a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance diagnostic and specialist services. The extension added five levels to the existing main laboratory in Brisbane, already one of the most advanced globally. The project aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among pathologists and scientists in a future-proof, flexible environment.

The extension connected seamlessly to the existing Bowen Hills facility at each floor. The total floor area of the new facilities reached 9,230m² across five levels, with each new space significantly increasing the size of the existing specialty laboratory areas. Notably, the Stage 1 laboratory sample transfer system was expanded to integrate with Stage 2, making it the largest bridged GLP track conveyor of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
