Building on our long-standing relationship with the University of Newcastle, Hansen Yuncken delivered the new Central Coast Campus in Gosford, expanding the University’s presence and educational offering in the region.

The purpose-built 4,500m² facility supported the University’s Schools of Business, Humanities and Education, alongside Pathways and Academic Learning Support, providing a contemporary learning environment tailored to the needs of the Central Coast community. The campus incorporated cutting-edge teaching and learning spaces, an innovation hub, industry engagement areas, and flexible meeting and event spaces, fostering collaboration between students, industry, and the broader community.

Architecturally, the building was designed to reflect Gosford’s natural ecology and industrial heritage through its materiality and form. The structure featured a combination of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) and Glulam mass timber, supported by two concrete cores, and was defined by a striking curved glazed façade. Following Hansen Yuncken’s successful delivery of the University’s 6 Star Green Star-rated Q Building, the Central Coast Campus was also delivered with a targeted 6 Star Green Star rating.

This project marked a significant milestone for Hansen Yuncken’s regional NSW team, reinforcing our collaborative partnership with the University of Newcastle and demonstrating our continued commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and future-focused education facilities across regional NSW.
