Hansen Yuncken is proud to be delivering the new multi-level UQ Sport Fitness Centre within the University’s 35-hectare Sport and Recreation Precinct at St Lucia. Scheduled to open in 2027, the facility will provide state-of-the-art spaces for the growing number of students, staff, and community members engaging in sport and recreation.

Positioned between the Aquatic Centre and the UQ Centre – which is being repurposed as an indoor multi-sport venue – the project strengthens UQ’s reputation as a global leader in sport, ranked first nationally and second worldwide for sports-related subjects. The existing Fitness Centre will continue to operate until the new facility is complete, ensuring uninterrupted access for the UQ community.
