Building on our respected past, whilst daring to re-imagine the future….

Hansen Yuncken is uniquely placed as a leading Australian construction company, proud of our 100 year history and continuous private ownership.

Established in Melbourne in 1918, as a partnership between Lauritz Hansen and Otto Yuncken, our corporate longevity evidences our role as a trusted business partner – proven in achieving outstanding quality – resulting in a portfolio of over 4000 successful projects, operating in all sectors of commercial construction.

But we are firmly focussed on the future.

With the advantages of our fully accessible management team, we offer fast client response and an ability to take innovations to market quickly, cultivating a proactive environment where initiative is rewarded and productive ideas flourish.

Our progressive corporate culture, fostered within the business, is embodied by over 650 staff, across nine CBD and regional offices located in VIC, NSW, SA, QLD and TAS.
Involved and genuinely engaged in creating the best outcomes for our clients, staff and subcontractors, we constantly challenge ourselves, aspiring to new milestones, such as currently building the largest hospital project in Australia: the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.

While our past dedication has led to an investment grade credit rating, no debt and annual turnover exceeding $1billion, as we embark on our next century, our future is based on our commitment to our clients.

RE-IMAGING THE INDUSTRY:

Although a long term contributor to the construction industry, our approach is always forward thinking – driving change through a continuing involvement in senior committee roles at State and National levels, with the Master Builders, the Australian Institute of Building, the Property Council, the Green Building Council of Australia and the National Association of Women in Construction amongst others.

Reflecting our progressive approach, we have pioneered sustainability and advanced technologies –at the forefront of practical implementation – while continually striving for excellence through ongoing learning and innovation.
