The Role:

The opportunity exists for an experienced and capable Senior Project Manager to work on the Warrnambool Base Hospital Redevelopment which will be one of the largest projects undertaken in the region.  The right candidate will join our team to lead the delivery of this project which will be undertaken over a period of 3 years.

Responsibilities include:

• Management of all stages of project delivery inclusive of key stakeholder relationships, scope definition, tender preparation, construction phase, subcontractor management, commissioning and handover of the operational facility.
• Coach and mentor the project team, growing capability and fostering a high-performance team culture.
• Maintain effective cost control including forecasting and achievement of budget outcomes.
• Coordinate project planning, scheduling and resourcing to achieve cashflow projections and effective delivery of the program of works.
• Effectively manage and delegate to design, commercial and site teams.
• Monitor to ensure project runs in accordance with brief, contractual agreements and critical path.
• Lead, engage, develop and facilitate relationships with key stakeholders to achieve high levels of stakeholder satisfaction.
• Provide innovative resolutions to issues that arise and implement relevant proactive measures.
• Proactively plan, monitor and manage HSE on the project to meet and exceed HSE best practice.
• Provide critical input for regular project meetings and coordinate relevant progress reporting.
• Work within third-party accredited Quality, Environmental & WHS systems.
• Successfully manage all Hansen Yuncken obligations and responsibilities on the project to meet and strive to exceed project specific commercial, contractual and quality requirements

We are seeking candidates with:

• Tertiary qualifications relevant to Construction (Construction Management or Civil Engineering).
• Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager in managing complex commercial construction projects in Australia.
• Proficiency in the use of technology including the Microsoft Office suites, programming software and strong CHEOPS experience is essential.
• Demonstrate high level of competency in communication (written and verbal).
• Competent knowledge on contract management, subcontract tendering, standards, procedures, cost reports, procurement, construction programs and plans.
• Have experience in working in the health, laboratory, commercial office space sectors.
• Demonstrable leadership qualities and mentorship to project team.
• Demonstrable ability to successfully lead the delivery of large projects.
